Why Work at Tree Aid?

Everyone in our team plays a role in tackling poverty and the effects of the climate crisis in the drylands of Africa. Once recruited, we aim to support our people to succeed in their roles and grow both personally and professionally.

Our aim is to build a team who can work together to successfully deliver our strategy and be driven by our values.

Our approach to recruitment

We recruit with openness and transparency. We employ people on the basis of their ability to carry out the role being recruited for.

We ensure that no applicant receives less favourable treatment than any other on the grounds of disability, gender, race, religion or belief, age, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, caring responsibilities or hours of work.

What we offer

We benchmark our salaries using independent surveys to ensure they are fair and competitive. All our people have 33 days of annual leave (including public holidays), rising to 38 days with length of employment. We provide a generous pension scheme in the UK, contributing up to 6% of salary. We offer enhanced maternity pay and are open to discuss flexible working options.

We provide all our people with the skills and opportunities to grow and realise their potential. We support a variety of formal and informal learning opportunities for staff, including time-off to attend training and assistance with training costs.

Our commitment to Safeguarding

Tree Aid is committed to safeguarding people within our programmes from exploitation and abuse. We have specific policies on this commitment, including standards of behaviour and whistleblowing. These policies outline the expected behaviour and the responsibility of all staff, volunteers and other organisational representatives.

Any candidate offered a job with Tree Aid will be expected to sign our safeguarding policy and agree to comply with our procedures. Some roles require DBS checks/police vetting.
