You might remember the UK Aid match She Grows project - which we fundraised for back in 2019. The three-year project started in February 2020 and is now at the halfway point.
Find out how 1,134 women are growing trees, producing food and earning an income in rural Mali.
Women taking part in the project have secured long term access to forest resources. They've established co-operatives so they can work together and grow sustainable businesses.
This large scale project has been helping to provide people with the tools and training they need to grow nutritious foods to eat. It also supported communities to improve their incomes through the sustainable management and use of non-timber forest products.
Now the project has come to an end, we're delighted to share some of the outcomes. Highlights include:
2,656 participating households no longer undernourished
375,000 trees grown
9,919 hectares of land under sustainable management
