We launched a new project in Mali that will run for five years. This initiative aims to protect land and support the livelihoods of communities by sustainably producing tree products.
In Burkina Faso, we are launching another innovative project to create income opportunities by using sustainable tree produce.
Earlier this year, Adjoa visited a Tree Aid project in Yendi in northern Ghana to see our work in action. The Daka river is a lifeline for local communities. The effects of the climate crisis mean that the water level can easily run low, and the river dries out for months on end. Trees provide a solution as the roots stabilise the soil and prevent nutritious topsoil from being washed away in floods.
Adjoa saw much more than just trees on her visit - watch the film showcasing Adjoa’s trip to find out more!
Robert Atawrura, one of Tree Aid's Project Officers in Ghana, has been featured in a book called "Islands in a Common Sea". This book shares stories of farmers and fishermen from all over the world. One of Robert's recipes from this book is featured in our latest Update magazine - it's not one to be missed!
