Across Africa, land is increasingly becoming degraded. The drylands are struggling to recover, leading to desertification. Without intervention such as planting trees to hold soil and water, droughts leave the soil weaker and less fertile.
Trees offer a simple yet powerful solution to restore land and transform lives.
Donate now to support communities to grow trees and restore their land.
Trees offer a reliable source of food and support farming communities to adapt to the effects of the climate crisis. When crops fail due to flooding or drought, trees endure, providing fruit, nuts and leaves.
These tree produce can be eaten or sold, ensuring families have a stable food supply. Families can grow and nurture their fruit trees, giving year-round access to food.

As part of the Tond Tenga project, local people are learning sustainable techniques like zai pits – compost-filled holes that conserve water, boost tree survival, and increase harvests even in the driest seasons.
These solutions mean more than just trees, they mean food on the table, an income for children’s education, and hope for a future where people can stay on their land.

Whether you choose to give a one-off donation or a regular gift, you can be sure that your gift will be put to good use, providing support to communities across Africa’s drylands to protect their environment and grow a better future. During 2024/25, for every £1 raised, we spent 89p on charitable activities, 9p on raising the next pound, and 2p on advocacy and awareness.
