We are proud of the expertise and experience of our team. We work together to tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis by growing trees, improving people’s incomes, and restoring and protecting land.
We all believe in protecting the environment so that people can live a healthy life, free from poverty.
Our board of trustees work together to set our strategic direction. They ensure we are true to our mission and values and check our progress against our strategy.
The board of trustees is led by our chair, Elizabeth Davis OBE.
Our chief executive and three directors together make up our senior management team. They are responsible for day-to-day decision making and for leading our three departments: programmes, finance and resources, and communications and fundraising.
Our advocacy team works to accelerate and scale up community-led ecosystem restoration across Africa's drylands by bringing the voices of dryland communities to the national, regional and international level to create and support enabling environments for the communities we serve.
The communications and fundraising team engage our supporters, who generously give their time and money to support our work. They also raise awareness of Tree Aid's work in media and across other communications.
Our finance and resources team ensure our projects are effectively funded and resourced, including bringing in the right people to lead our work. The team also ensure we have the right policies in place to ensure risk management and safeguarding is at the heart of our work.
Our programmes team look after all of our projects across Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Senegal and Niger. This includes overseeing our monitoring and evaluation systems and our specialist technical work.
They work with communities and local partners to directly tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis.
As well as working with communities, we join forces with local, national and international organisations to grow trees, improve people’s incomes, and restore and protect land. We work in partnership to find long-term solutions to tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis. Together, we influence policy and push for change that protects trees, people’s livelihoods and our planet.
We are lucky to have dedicated patrons who support our work and help us spread the word about what we do. Whether it's voicing a radio appeal or attending an event, our patrons generously give their time to Tree Aid.
